Tropical Chic Celebration

80's Tropical Chic Party!

Just like everything, the eighties has done a full circle and is hotter than ever!  Add a little Miami Vice vibe to the mix and and you've got a sophisticated party filled with geometrics,  bright colors, tropical foliage and a splash of neon fun! This was the perfect theme for a 17th birthday!

Now that I had my theme and overall vibe for the party, I couldn't wait to design the invitation!  Palm trees, geometrics and a pop of neon....

The dessert table was kept simple and fresh with just the right amount of sophistication.  A white on white screen with a fun geometric pattern sat just behind the table and a collection of white balloons cascaded over the top and down one side. A few strategically placed coral and clear confetti balloons added dimension and pops of color.  Some greenery was tucked throughout as well as a few large palm leaves, black and coral triangles and of course tropical neon for the win!

The dessert table boasted brightly colored macrons, the most delicious mini coconut cream pies, some beautifully decorated sugar cookies all complimenting perfectly the tropical inspired two tiered cake.  The cakes bottom layer was adorned with modern white tropical foliage while the top layer was a simple aqua watercolor design all topped off with the perfect custom black acrylic cake topper!

The tablescape featured a tropical leaf table runner with the focal point being the gorgeous floral arrangement  boasting white lilies, coral roses, fuchsia and orange dahlias and tropical greenery all displayed in a chic black and white patterned container.

The guests were greeted with custom acrylic place holders placed atop a fun graphic triangle as well as the sweetest little gold bell jar containing an individual tropical macron!

Each place setting started with a black and white graphic melamine plate, topped with a fun coral plate and finished with the acrylic place holder.  A lime green napkin was placed neatly underneath for a clean chic look.
The cutlery was one of my favorite elements!  Shiny white with coral handles! How fun is that!  Aqua frosted glasses accompanied by a lovely graphic paper cup both adorned with a fabulous collection of swizzle sticks.

The guests enjoyed tropical smoothies, Caesar salad, coconut shrimp and mini slider burgers as well as a special treat of homemade popsicles for the win!

Each guest took home a monogrammed little purse with a custom zipper pull to match the party. . .  of course!  Its all in the details! LOL!
Each purse contained the sweetest tropical chic picture frame. The guests could choose a fun pic from the giant collection of Polaroids the girls shot to place inside!
If POLAROID doesn't scream 80's, I don't know what does! LOL!

This 80's Tropical Chic Miami Vice vibe party would be perfect for a bridal shower, baby shower or even girl's night out!

I hope you found lots of inspiration and ideas for your next party!
