Let's Do Brunch!

Ladies Brunch Baby Shower!

This past month I had the pleasure of styling and hosting a lovely ladies brunch to celebrate a dear friend of mine and the upcoming birth of her daughter.  I also had the pleasure of partnering up with Shutterfly on this event to create a warm, welcoming and cohesive look by using some of their lovely home decor pieces throughout the party!
I started like I always do by designing the invitation,  as this sets the tone for what the guests can expect when they arrive.  The theme I chose was  simple and  rustic yet very beautiful. I think it's important for the theme to reflect the personality of the guest of honor.  I achieved this look by using a wood element and a lace element mixed with gorgeous hand painted floral clip art from www.createthecut.com. They are definitely one of my go-to's when I need a hand painted floral feel!

I carried this theme over to the beautiful "Welcome" sign that greeted the guests as they entered the party and again onto the stunning canvas that graced the dessert table.  These are just two of several wonderful home decor items Shutterfly offers that you can easily customize to go with any party theme!

Another quick and easy way to customize your party is by adding some fun throw pillows that reflect your theme.

I can never seem to throw a party without overdoing it a bit on the flowers!  What can I say... I'm a sucker for beautiful flowers!  I wanted the guests to be able to enjoy the flowers after the party ended so I decided to double the table's flower arrangement as the favors for the guests to take home.  I had these lovely mason jar mugs etched with each guests initial, then lined them down the center of the table runner and filled them with loads of vibrant flowers!  The ladies were thrilled to be able to take home their own personalized flower arrangements!

For refreshments, I set up a fabulous Mimosa Bar on a darling gold mirrored beverage cart I picked up at Cost Plus.  Having all your drinks and glassware in one place is not only convenient and functional, it looks great too!

Because there was so much wonderful brunch food to choose from, I decided to keep the desserts to a minimum.  I made a beautiful 5 layer naked chocolate cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting and adorned it with what else.....flowers of course!  And why not add more flowers to the mix in the form of gorgeous flower sugar cookies, which by the way were so much fun to make.

I decided that instead of playing silly shower games, I would ask each guest to bring a special book for the baby and I included a darling sticker for them to put in the cover with their own special message inside.  Everyone seemed to love this idea, including the guest of honor!
I was thrilled to be able to honor my friend with this very special brunch for her and baby and I can't wait to meet the newest addition to her family!
I hope you found much inspiration and ideas to use for your next gathering!
