First up...... a Mad Hatter Tea Party!

I absolutely adore the story of Alice in Wonderland and have always wanted to use this theme for a party, so when my daughter told me she wanted to be Alice for Halloween, I knew exactly what my Trunk or Treat theme would be!

I had so much fun creating a whimsical tea party in my trunk, and it was easier than you think!  Oriental Trading had so many fun, colorful and unique items that matched each other perfectly to create a cohesively fantastic display.

I started by decorating the top of the trunk with whimsical tissue puffs, giant tea party inspired cutouts and green tissue fans. I created the most darling topiary to go on either side using various sized green tissue fans, red card stock circles and hand drawn urns.  This was such a quick and easy craft to create.

I then took a 6 foot table with legs down on only one side and had it jutting out of the back to create my table.  I placed a white tablecloth on top, a checkered table runner and some huge playing cards in front for some added whimsy!
I decorated the table with brightly colored plates, napkins, tea cup flower arrangements, multi colored tissue puffs and finally, the most adorable Mad Hatter themed centerpiece.

Finally, Alice and the Mad Hatter arrived and the party could begin!

  3. SO AMAZING!! I love the scale of your props--so perfect for the Alice in Wonderland theme. The use and arrangement of the tissue paper decorative elements is absolutely inspired, too. I love those topiaries!!!
