Modern Rocker Birthday

Let's ROCK!

"Let's ROCK!"  is what my son said when I asked him what kind of birthday he wanted for his 11th!
I LOVED it!  And since his instrument of choice is the drums, I decided to keep that the focus and design everything around that.

I started like always and designed the invitation as well as all the fun printables to match.
The party would be modern and fresh with a base of black and white and pops of blue, orange and green throughout.
I loved how the invitation turned out and so did Max!

The set up was fairly simple but at the same time had a definite pop!  The white brick wall at the School of Rock studio served as the perfect backdrop.   I added a large graphic sign and hung a black and white balloon cluster around it.
I kept the dessert table / food table fairly simple as well.  It boasted awesome sugar cookies, yummy chocolate cupcakes, "Rock Pop" aka...popcorn,  delicious croissant sandwiches and a scrumptious chocolate ganache drip cake decorated with colorful macarons!

The party table for the guests was super fun! It was made up of low to the ground end tables and loads of colorfully fun pillows to sit on!

I sprinkled the tables with  black square plates, colorful napkins, the coolest guitar pens and awesome custom guitar picks that said, "Let's ROCK! #MAXIS11".  These were such a huge hit with all the kids!

School of Rock was such a great venue to have the party at.  The kids all got to try out different instruments, finally settling on one that suited them best.  They then, impressively enough learned an entire rock song, "Gimme Some Lovin",  jammed it out for a while until they felt ready to perform it for all the parents.  It sounded amazing!

After the super fun jam session, all the guests enjoyed some lunch and yummy desserts and wished the birthday boy a super "Happy Birthday"!

Before each guest left, I made sure to give them all an awesome favor bag.  This may have been one of my favorites to date!  It had a custom t-shirt and a personalized notebook I created with my handy dandy Cricut machine as well as the coolest guitar pen and a handful of custom guitar picks.

Everyone had a ROCKIN' good time, especially the birthday boy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found some wonderful ideas to inspire your next event!
